From September 2010, post-16 students in Shrewsbury will be able to access a new qualification. The Advanced Diploma in Business, Administration and Finance will be offered at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and has been developed by both Shrewsbury Colleges in collaboration with schools. This new qualification has been designed in partnership with employers and provides an excellent and varied programme giving access to Higher Education or to a wide variety of Business careers.
Julie Hughes, Head of Business Studies at SSFC explains further ‘this new qualification is aimed at those students who would like to focus on this particular area of the curriculum. Course work and work experience are features of this course and students will study an A level in another subject too.’
Vice-Principal Roz Conway adds ‘We are excited to be able to offer this new course to students. It will appeal to those students who want a realistic element to their study and it will equip them with a broad range of skills to take into the workplace or onto further study.’
An information evening will be held at SSFC on Thursday 4th February between 6 and 7 pm and is open to all parents and students who are interested in finding out more.
