Congratulations to Greg Hearle, first year student, for winning this year's Shropshire Concerto Competition. Performed at the new Theatre Severn with the Shropshire Sinofina, there were four contestants - Shi Yun Khoo, playing Piano Concerto No.4 by Beethoven; Bethan Robinson and Holly Scutt playing the Double Violin Concerto by Bach; Gregory Hearle playing the Clarinet Concerto by William Matthias and another SSFC student Christopher Jones playing the Trombone Concerto by Nina Rota, a second appearance for Chris who performed in last year's competition too.
The college is very proud of its success in this competition with numerous students taking part and winning over the years.
The competition is hosted and recorded by Radio Shropshire and you can read more about the evening and listen to the music on their website here.
