Typically you choose four subjects in Year 12. You also take General Studies AS, 'IT for Learning' or Critical Thinking and attend tutorial sessions, as well as any enrichment activities you choose to do.
In your second year you will usually continue with three subjects. In addition you can also take General Studies A2 or choose to research any topic in depth to achieve an Extended Project qualification.
If required you an resit English or Maths GCSE in place of one AS subject.
There are two parts to an advanced level qualification;
You will need at least 5 grades Cs at GCSE to qualify for an advanced level programme, plus interest in the specific course you have chosen. Some courses may have additional specific requirements. (See individual course information in the course downloads to the right.)
you can choose a range of GCSEs alongside tutorial work. Typically 4 GCSEs make up a full programme of study. You will need to have achieved at least grade E or above in your GCSEs, with probably not more than four or five at grade C or above.
Many you see the intermediate programme as a route to advanced level qualifications; others to employment, training and apprenticeships.
Select your desired subject from the drop down below, you will then be guided to more details on that course.
"It's a different type of atmosphere to school. There's no uniform, no bells. You have to be on time and you have to attend all lessons. There are some free blocks and you are expected to plan your time, but you are trusted to be responsible"
