Dear Parent/Guardian,
The College aspires to continually improve the site and to provide more opportunities for its students. I am delighted with the progress made on the new Earth Sciences teaching block. In order to sustain and improve facilities the College is developing a number of approaches to income generation.
One of the strands is to look at sponsorship and fund raising. David Poppitt from Wootton George Consultancy (fund raising specialist) has been employed to carry out a feasibility study over two days – 29 February and 1 March. This will involve him talking to a range of stakeholders which will include staff, governors and parents.
David is also interested in talking to local business owners or directors.
If you would be prepared to talk to David about the College’s prospects in terms of raising funds or can suggest contacts please let me know by Friday 10 February.
Possible uses for the funds would be; specific capital projects, student bursaries, and a fund to support enrichment activities.
Your support is particularly welcome.
Many thanks
Martin Ward ~ Principal
Dear Parent/Guardian
I hope that you had an enjoyable Christmas and I wish you and your family a Happy New Year.
College life is very busy with good progress being made on the new Earth Sciences building, and so many students involved in January module examinations or with coursework deadlines.
This year our examination venues include the new Baptist Church facility (Central) in the centre of the town.
I am sure that I will see you over the course of the next couple of months, and I hope that you will take the opportunity to talk to me.
In April the annual parent survey will be issued and you will have a formal opportunity to feedback on the college.
As you may have seen our building work is progressing well, and we are on course to have our new Earth Sciences block in place for the new academic year.
Best wishes
Martin Ward
Principal
We are being asked for date and time information for the exam periods in January and Summer 2012. Below is in the information that we currently have available. This information should be used with extreme caution - it is provisional. More information can be found on each of the exam boards websites details of which are also given. Also we would remind you that Year 1 students commence their A2 courses during the summer term, date still to be determined.
