College students into the final round

Shrewsbury Sixth Form College is pleased to announce that two of our students, Gregory Hearle and Christopher Jones entered the competition and have successfully invited to proceed into the Final Round, which will be held at the Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury on Wednesday 1st April at 7.30pm.

For the 32nd year the Shropshire School of Music, in conjunction with BBC Radio Shropshire, SYMPHO (Shropshire Young Musicians' Parents & Helpers Organisation) and Shrewsbury Orchestral Society, is running the Shropshire Concerto Competition. The competition was open to musicians who were aged 18 or under on the 1st September 2008 and live in or are educated in Shropshire. The winning finalist will receive a prize donated by Shropshire Young Musicians' Parents and Helpers Organisation, Whittingham Riddell Limited, Concert sponsers, cup donated by BBC Radio Shropshire plus a winners radio interview. The runners up in the Final will each receive a prize from the Shrewsbury Orchestral Society.
