Come On, Eileen ...

SSFC was very pleased to welcome Eileen Sandford MBE last week when she gave a talk to History students and presented the college with a copy of her book 'Come On, Eileen'.

Chronicling the story of her life to date, the reader is treated to accounts of her life before World War 2 and her activities thoughout it. Her experiences in Nigeria and as Councillor for Harlescott. Spanning 87 years (so far), the book is filled with amusing anetcdotes; memories of people worldwide; poetry and daring deeds that she has undertaken.

Her dedication in the book for the students 'to take all the opportunities that life affords'. Something she has done with gusto.
