Enrolment Information

First Years

On your Enrolment Day (2nd or 3rd September) you will meet your Group Tutor in order to finalise your course and organise your individual timetable. You will also be introduced to the Learning Resources Centre, complete administrative tasks and take an Initial Assessment in Literacy. You will be required to stay at college for approximately half a day.

It is essential that you bring with you: 

  • Your examination result slip(s) – you will not be able to register at college without these
  • Your contribution to College Fund. (£30 for Advanced Programme students, being a contribution to cover the two years of the course.) The purpose of this is explained in your copy of the Student Induction Handbook that you were given at the beginning of the Induction course. If payment is made by cheque, it should be made payable to 'Shrewsbury Sixth Form College'. Arrangements for spreading the cost and financial assistance are also described in the handbook.
  • Your EMA registration form (if applicable)

You will have been given your individual Enrolment Appointment date and time. If you have lost your time, please contact Reception on 01743 235491. All Enrolment Appointments will take place in the Learning Resources Centre. Please be prompt.

After this appointment, you will not be required further until Wednesday 8th September when teaching begins. You should be in your Tutor Group room at 8.45 am, to receive your timetable and other information. Teaching will begin after this time.

Second Years

Results

Don't worry if your results were not as expected. If this is the case and you wish to speak to someone before enrolment, please call reception to make an appointment. The College's Progression/Careers Manager will be available in the Learning Centre on Wednesday 25th August for further enquiries.

 

IMPORTANT

It is very important that you let us know as soon as possible if you decide not to take up your place at the College as we may well be able to offer the place to another student. Contact the Admissions Manager on admissions@ssfc.ac.uk or call Reception.
