The Learning Centre

The award-winning Learning Centre is the base for all student support services in College. In particular the following support services are available:

Careers Guidance:

The College has a full-time Careers Adviser, as well as the expertise of Connexions advisers. These advise students on a range of progression opportunities and arrange work experience as appropriate.

Financial Support:

The College may be able to offer some help towards the costs incurred whilst at College. More information about EMAs (Education Maintenance Allowances) and financial assistance with transport, visits, childcare etc can be found in the leaflets 'Financial Support' and 'Transport Assistance' from Student Services.

Study Support:

A team of staff is available to provide general or specific support needs.

Counselling Support:

Free independent counselling is available at College. More information about this can be found in the 'Student Counselling Service' leaflet and from Student Services.

Learning Resources:

A broad range of learning resources in print, audio-visual and electronic formats are housed in our main Learning Centre and Cirrus House facility. These are available to students throughout the day and some days in the vacations. Staff support is always available to help students in their use of these resources and the 100 plus computers dedicated for student open access use.

Students also have access to a wide range of facilities through our on-line virtual learning environment 'Moodle'  which is accessible from all College computers and from any internet-enabled PC.

Leaflets giving more details about all these services are available from the Learning Centre.
