Mayor opens ‘The White House’

The new student common room at the sixth form college was formally opened on Monday 23rd November by Cllr Alan Townsend, Mayor of Shrewsbury. 

Named ‘The White House’ by students, the Mayor will be joined by James West, representing Morris Property; College Council Presidents James Ashford and Sana Ayub, SSFC Youth Support Worker Wendy Challinor and Principal Martin Ward.

‘This building has been a great addition to the SSFC facilities, providing a new social space for students’ said Principal Martin Ward. ‘They are taking advantage of the facility as a hub for the work of the college council and to link with the new Youth Support Worker whose office is located there. Already Health & Social Care students have run Health Promotion Campaigns for students using this great flexible space’.
