An excellent opportunity to learn all aspects of site carpentry and gain a Level 2 qualification. Working with experienced carpenters, you will learn installation, repair, finishing and maintenance of structures and fixtures. A strong understanding of health and safety is essential, contributing to durable buildings. On varied projects.

• What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Work under the supervision of a mentor
  • Learn to build or install doors, frameworks, floors, Kitchens’ units/worktops, fixed furniture, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, and power tools
  • Learn to remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures, including roofs, and repair or replace, using hand tools
  • Learn to install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools
  • Learn to install timber roof structures, including truss and rafter construction and formation of dormers
  • Learn to install and repair fascias, soffits, and gutters in a variety of materials
  • Learn to finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings, using paint, hand tools, and paneling
• Training and Qualification
  • Attend a level 2 site carpentry college course - 1 day a week
