Shrewsbury College celebrates its outstanding apprentices and employers at their Apprenticeship Awards 2025 evening.
Shrewsbury College proudly celebrated the achievements of its apprentices and employer partners at the annual Apprenticeship Awards evening. This key event in the college calendar recognises exceptional commitment, growth and success across a wide range of sectors; from Professional Services and Hairdressing to Construction, Engineering and Outdoor Activity.
Held at Origins Restaurant on 29 January 2026, the evening also highlighted the impressive skills of the college’s catering students, who delivered a professional dining experience that set the tone for a memorable celebration.


This year’s apprentice winners have demonstrated remarkable dedication to their development. Their willingness to learn, take initiative, and consistently perform at a high standard has made a significant impact both academically and within their workplaces. Many have exceeded expectations, contributing to key projects and developing the resilience and drive that will support their future careers.

Ben Hopkinson, from Schneider Electric, was named Overall Apprentice of the Year, alongside receiving the Engineering & Manufacturing Apprentice Award. Here’s what Ben had to say about his incredible win:
"Completing my Apprenticeship at Shrewsbury College has been an incredible experience. I couldn’t have achieved this without the amazing support from my mentors and lecturers at the college, as well as my employer. Their guidance has helped me grow, develop my skills and feel confident as I take the next steps toward my future career."
