Shrewsbury College High Sheriff Awards 2026

Shrewsbury College was honoured to host the High Sheriff of Shropshire Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, welcoming over 100 attendees to Clayton Hall at the London Road Campus.

The annual event, marking its 20th year, recognised 44 nominees and groups for their outstanding contributions by volunteers, charities, emergency services, and dedicated individuals from across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

The ceremony, led by the High Sheriff of Shropshire, highlighted the outstanding work happening within local communities and recognised those who go above and beyond to support others. Among the key moments was the High Sheriff Young Citizen Award, which honours inspiring young people whose actions show leadership, compassion, and a strong dedication to positive citizenship.

As a college community, we were especially proud to support an event that encourages young people to recognise the importance of their contributions and inspires others to participate in meaningful community activities. Events like this reaffirm that the actions of individuals, particularly young people, truly matter and can leave a lasting impact.

Our Music Technology students were honoured to perform to an audience of such inspiring people on the evening.
